About Steve

Hi everyone! I’m Steve and this is my blog. You are very welcome, and I hope you enjoy reading and getting involved with Steve Shipman Photography.

I am primarily a wedding photographer, based in sunny St Albans in Hertfordshire. I travel all over the country for my lovely clients, and occasionally get across the channel! I have always been a photographer, and started my career photographing celebrities for magazines. I have worked for all the Sunday magazines, and loads of other monthly titles as well. I have several portraits in the National Portrait Gallery’s permanent collection, of which I’m very proud.

Round about 1999 I was persuaded to photograph a couple of friends’ weddings, on my new digital camera, bought jointly with another photographer friend (£8000.00!!) and suddenly I knew I could do weddings in a fun and energetic way, in the style of my magazine work, with creative images composed for front covers and double page spreads.

That is where I come from, photographically, trying not to be too much of a ‘wedding’ photographer, yet trying hard to be a really good photographer of brides, grooms and lovely people at weddings. You can see my web site at steveshipmanphotography.com
