Louise and Paul’s pre-wedding portraits

We had such a laugh doing these photos, but I’m feeling slightly guilty because we got told off, in a very nice way, by the farmer who owned the corn fields. He was very understanding, and completely saw why we were so drawn to his beautiful fields. I know I should have got written permission three months in advance, but sometimes uninhibited spontaneity takes over…

Jemma and Phil

Wow, what a day! Jemma and Phil met while driving Land-Rovers through muddy puddles, and they were determined to re-live that moment on their wedding day. After the ceremony we flew in a helicopter from the village cricket green, over the village to Jemma’s parents’ house and landed in the field opposite. Waiting to meet us, was the fabulous Pink Land-Rover that Phil had built over the last year as a gift to Jemma. And so we went off-roading…

Here are just a few from that exciting day.

Caroline and Akeem

We met to recce the venue, but it was a lovely chance to get to know each other a little – for me, that is, not them. I think they know each other pretty well by now. Anyway, Caroline had booked me at the National Wedding Fair way back at the beginning of the year, and this was our first meeting since then.

Caroline and Akeem are such a modest couple, and so funny and kind as well. Caroline insisted that I had salmon and salad on her wedding day – she already had me down as a no meat man! We had only a little time to do some quiet pre-wedding shots, and Caroline was kind enough to compliment me on the passion I have for photographing people. I guess it peeps through sometimes.

Louise and Steve

One of the best things (apart from all the obvious things – of which there were many) about Louise and Steve’s wedding was the fact that Louise was awarded her degree during her reception. She got a First Class Honours. I was almost more impressed with that than I was with the wedding itself – well, it was close.

But I know how much effort goes into learning as an adult, I have friends and family who have done MBAs and post-graduates and masters. It’s tough, especially while trying to live your life as near to normal as possible. You can’t, actually. And then you go and organise a wedding. At the same time as your finals…

My heart goes out to you, Louise, you did so well.

Jenni and Iri part two…

I couldn’t resist posting a few more from Jenni and Iri’s wedding at the Auberge du Lac a couple of weeks ago. Their wedding day was brilliantly overseen by event co-ordinator Lauren Caisley, who, I’m thrilled to say, has subsequently invited me to be one of their preferred suppliers. Here’s how Jenni reacted to their slideshow – ‘We love  the photos soooooo much, and we keep watching the DVD every night, it’s our entertainment now along with the world cup of course!!!’ If you’d like to see a slideshow, please click here.

Jenni and Iri

We all checked the weather every day for the week before Jenni and Iri’s wedding, and we all knew it was going to lash with rain and thunder for most of the day. It couldn’t have been better – the sun shone, there was softening cloud, and it was warm. Balmy almost.

Jenny and Iri are very in love, very happy, and their sense of flair and style for their wedding day was perfect.

Jenni and Iri, here are just a few shots to whet your appetite for the whole collection when you get home. Have a fabulous honeymoon!
